Stacey L. Leinheiser, a partner, has been a member of David A. Axelrod & Associates since 2002. Ms. Leinheiser concentrates her practice in medical malpractice, catastrophic injuries, commercial cases, and construction law and litigation.
Ms. Leinheiser’s credentials include some of the firm’s largest cases. Ms. Leinheiser headed up the team of lawyers working on a $30 million mortgage fraud case that settled on the first day of trial. She served as second chair in Marston v. Walgreen Company, a trial that resulted in a record verdict of more than $31 million, including $25 million in punitive damages. Her litigation credits also include trials involving municipal liability and unfair competition.
Ms. Leinheiser litigates commercial and construction cases in state and federal courts in Illinois and in other states. These cases include breach of contract, fraud, and delay damages claims involving millions of dollars in damages.
In the area of professional malpractice, Ms. Leinheiser litigates attorney, medical, and accountant malpractice cases. She has had a principal role in medical malpractice cases involving recoveries of more than $3 million.
Ms. Leinheiser is a graduate of the DePaul University College of Law, where she served as the Legislative Updates Editor for the DePaul-LCA Journal of Art and Entertainment Law. She also received a Bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1998. Ms. Leinheiser was licensed to practice law in Illinois in 2002 and was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois the following year.
